Papoose goes all out on Thought I Was Gonna Stop remix
Last year, Papoose was one of the most-slept on artists in the game. Every month, Pap dropped a new project, and had bangers on each one of them. Consistent with it, he kept the titles simple, naming them after the month. Via these projects, he averaged a new release every day, including the individual songs, and the videos.
In September, he released the single, “Thought I Was Gonna Stop,” featuring Lil Wayne. While it’s no longer 2011, Lil Wayne is still a major force in the game. For Papoose to land a feature with Wayne, it was a tremendous deal. When Papoose dropped the single, it ended up immediately going viral, and the music video did the same.
Papoose ended up scoring one of the biggest hits of his career, with “Thought I Was Gonna Stop.” So, he has followed this up with a remix for the record. People forget that Pap, at one point, was touted as the next major star in the game. What a lot of stars from the previous era became is what Pap had the potential to be, but he chose to stay true to himself.
What that earned Papoose was a role on “Love & Hip Hop,” where his love with Remy Ma inspired spinoff shows, and appearances on daytime TV. Recently, he did the “Thought I Was Gonna Stop” remix, adding 2 Chainz, Remy, and Busta Rhymes to the track already featuring Lil Wayne.
