Many older movements and labels in hip hop and R&B are getting a revisit. Following Straight Outta Compton becoming a tremendous success, many biopics and documentaries are coming. BET has stepped up to make this happen.
Not only is BET doing biopics, they are doing a docuseries that follows such labels as Uptown Records and Murder Inc. But, they are preparing to jump on New Edition to revisit their run. They have a biopic miniseries with BET that is coming up.
Recently, Michael Bivins called into “The Breakfast Club” about the new work New Edition has. Speaking to DJ Envy, Angela Yee, and Charlamagne Tha God, Michael Bivins discussed the New Edition biopic and BET making the deal. He also mentioned that New Edition has a new record out, topping the charts.
