Honestly, the 2003 Jay Z “retirement” should not have come as a major shock. The Brooklyn icon always intended to leave the game to an executive while Memphis Bleek ran rap. Everything went according to plan, but Memphis Bleek never fully blossomed into stardom.

Memphis Bleek is still one of the hardest rappers ever and he is happy with what life gave him. After all, being second in command to Jay Z is still a good position. Being around him has taught him many intangibles that most will never adapt.

Recently, Memphis Bleek visited Shade 45 and he talked to DJ Self and DJ Superstar Jay. In the interview, Memphis Bleek discussed his longtime relationship with Jay-Z and the conversation about TIDAL began. Defending TIDAL, Memphis Bleek went on to discuss the current state of New York hip hop.
