As long as he has been releasing albums, Kanye West has had the G.O.O.D. Music record label. At times, he has focused on the label, promoting music from Common and John Legend through the label. But, for the most part, Kanye West paid little attention to his label until 2009 when Kid Cudi had breakout success with “Day ‘n’ Nite.”

Kid Cudi released two albums on the heels of each other, Man on the Moon in 2009 and the sequel in 2010. Both albums were critical successes, but received minimal promotion from G.O.O.D. Music. When Kanye West signed the distribution deal with Def Jam, Kid Cudi was left out of the deal and his album with Universal was delayed.

Last summer, Cruel Summer was released with minimal interaction from Kid Cudi, though he is on the album. Releasing his “Girls” single last night, Kid Cudi recently talked with DJ Felli Fel for Power 105.1. During the interview, Kid Cudi revealed he is no longer a member of G.O.O.D. Music.
