The first Brick Squad artist from the West Coast was Joe Moses. Considered BSM’s first trek into Los Angeles, Joe Moses represents a new kind of gangsta rap, along with Ice Burgandy. Instead of the traditional gangsta rap, their music comes over trap beats, merging the Atlanta-based trap music into the Los Angeles-based gangsta rap. Joe Moses represented this blend in his choice of mixtape hosts, as he has DJ Drama and Power 106’s L.A. Leakers hosting the mixtape. Appearances from YG, Ty$, E-40, and DJ Mustard are included on the new mixtape.
