Early in 2011, Young Jeezy became an afterthought in the rap game. TM103 was faced with continuous delays. Fans of Young Jeezy gave up on any new album ever coming out. Each time fans gave up, Young Jeezy gave them something to inspire new hope and Freddie Gibbs was this hope in the spring of 2011.

A native of Gary, Indiana, Freddie Gibbs was one of the first rappers from the city to gain success in the rap game. Freddie Gibbs continued his mixtape run, releasing projects with the likes of DJ Drama, among others. Despite his collaborations with such West Coast figures as Madlib, Freddie Gibbs did not secure an album release.

However, last week, Freddie Gibbs spoke on his debut album and said it might not be released on CTE. Power 105.1’s “The Breakfast Club” talked to Freddie Gibbs and he said he was still fielding offers. Over the weekend, Freddie Gibbs also hinted to leaving the CTE label, via Twitter, now during a call-in to “The Breakfast Club,” Freddie Gibbs admitted he left CTE.
