Long before either Ebro or Charlamagne Tha God were even doing radio, there, Hot 97 and Power 105.1 have had issues. The entire history of Power 105 has been former Hot 97 personalities going over there after bad splits. So far, Angie Martinez is the only exception.
But, both DJ Envy and DJ Clue left the station and received bigger roles over at Power 105. The continued shuffling at Hot 97 led to Ebro becoming an on-air talent. This was, in part, so Hot 97 could begin to compete with “The Breakfast Club.”
Recently, Charlamagne Tha God was on Joe Budden’s podcast and, somehow, Ebro’s name came up. Explaining why he doesn’t acknowledge Ebro, Charlamagne said he doesn’t have a reason to, and he said he asked him for a picture, to which he turned down. After hearing this, Ebro took to his Hot 97 airwaves and told his side of the story… yikes!
