Ten years ago, 50 Cent was rising to fame, as “Wanksta” was making its way through mainstream radio. The success of “Wanksta” spelled the end for Ja Rule, but 50 Cent was established as the product of Eminem and Dr. Dre. An unlikely union, the trio managed to make it work, for the most part.

50 Cent criticized Ja Rule for making pop-oriented records, as opposed to the street music fans want to hear. Ten years later, 50 Cent finds himself recording with Maroon 5 and he is proud of it. Currently on top of iTunes, 50 Cent released “My Life,” which features Eminem and Adam Levine.

Carson Daly spoke to 50 Cent for AMP Radio and he discussed Eminem. “My Life” is the latest in a long line of collaborations. Since their first track, both rappers have gone through countless changes. Searching for a standout single, 50 Cent now has one for Street King Immortal, which is due on February 26.
