R. Kelly is still locked up as a result of sex crimes he’s committed in Illinois, New York, and Minnesota. More evidence is being presented as evidence to keep him away for a very long time and the latest is his marriage to Aaliyah back in the ‘90s when he was 27 and she was 15.
According to The Blast, court documents state that Kelly has provided no evidence in his case as far as why he should be granted bond. Prosecutors are now bringing up Kelly’s marriage certificate to Aaliyah as their evidence in keeping him in jail. The prosecutors noted that her signature was forged to make it look like she was 18 at the time.
“Defendant even married a 15-year-old girl when he was 27 years-old,” said prosecutors in court. “The government produced in discovery to the defendant the official marriage application, marriage certificate, and annulment records for this marriage. Far from being a one- time mistake, defendant’s sexual abuse of minors was intentional and prolific.”
Aaliyah being brought up has struck a nerve in Kelly for years. She never wants to speak on her and that was the case in his epic CBS interview with Gayle King this past spring where he had a meltdown about his sex crimes.
