Hip Hop Vibe celebrates Bay Area hip hop with Oakland Week
It’s Monday, which means it’s a new work week and with that comes another Hip Hop Vibe special. Yo Gotti’s “Act Right” with Jeezy and YG was a big song this summer and is dedicated to the Bay Area, specifically Oakland. As the home of the legendary deceased legend, Mac Dre, Too $hort, and E-40, Oakland is full of talent.
Recent years have seen Oakland produce such names as Kreayshawn, Iamsu!, and Kurt Diggler. Oakland has always had a presence in the rap game and it will continue to have a strong presence. There are plenty of legends from the city who have impacted hip hop and the late Tupac Shakur got his fame in Oakland.
This week, Hip Hop Vibe has a special tribute planned for the Oakland hip hop scene. A lot of features on the Oakland legends will be featured over the span of this week in addition to the news stories and interviews. Oakland is one of the more-storied hip hop cities and it deserves a spotlight.
