Tonight, “Empire” returns following a two week hiatus. This season has seen added focus on Shine (Xzibit), as he has forced himself into the world of Lucious’ (Terrence Howard) Empire. In the last episode, Lucious and Andre (Trai Byers) beat Shine in the Empire offices.
Meanwhile, Andre began sleeping with Nessa (Sierra McClain), Shine’s pet project on Empire. After learning about this, in addition to the beatdown, Shine is definitely out for blood. But, before Xzibit claimed his comeback as Shine, he was Dr. Dre’s protege.
In 2000, Xzibit delivered his best-known single to-date. While he stayed around as a television personality, Xzibit is best-known, musically, for “X,” his single featuring Snoop Dogg (an Empire signee) and one of Dr. Dre’s famous beats. With “Empire” returning on a Shine-centric note, “X” made a good choice for Wednesday Throwback.
