The 2001-2002 period in music is so slept on, but name another period that brought new music from Usher, Brandy, Nas, Sisqo, Jay Z, R. Kelly, Jadakiss, Ray J, Bow Wow, Ja Rule, and Michael Jackson. Yes, the last official Michael Jackson album. Invincible dropped in 2001.
It wasn’t intended to be this way, but Invincible ended up being the final Michael Jackson album. Because of this, “You Rock My World” was Michael Jackson’s final music video. What a way for him to do his final visual.
Michael Jackson introduced Invincible with “You Rock My World” as the lead single. Definitely a dope track, the song, and the music video features vocals and a cameo from Chris Tucker, but Marlon Brando also made a big appearance in the video, along with some other film legends. There is always a good reason for a Michael Jackson Wednesday Throwback.
