Before the whole Cash Money fallout, Drake began taking bigger risks, on his own movement. Already, he had the OVO label, but he secured his own deal, and began developing artists. One of the first artists to emerge was Preme, then known as P. Reign.
At the same time as OVO was emerging, Young Money was falling apart, as Lil Wayne began calling Birdman out. That situation eventually bottomed out and Lil Wayne faded from the spotlight. So far, the early part of 2018 is saying that he’s back.
Preme returned with his single, “Hot Boy,” with Lil Wayne, and paying homage to his old group. The video for the song dropped, a few days ago. This is a rare move, from HHV, doing the Video of the Week, on a Saturday, but sometimes it’s like that, and Preme’s “Hot Boy” takes the honors.
