Over the years, Alkaline has definitely put in work, becoming one of the biggest names in music. With Dancehall becoming so popular, the streaming services are playing catchup. Recently, Spotify opened up to other countries.
Spotify is going all out, now that it’s available in various nations. They are doing playlists and, for Jamaica, there is the Dancehall playlist. The playlist is called “Back a Yard” and they have one of Dancehall’s biggest names as the face of it.
Alkaline is currently riding the high of his “Top Prize” single, which dropped earlier this month. The song has over 900,00 streams, on the various DSPs, and 1.1 million streams, from YouTube. With his buzz growing, Alkaline was selected as the face of the “Back a Yard” Spotify playlist.
