In the early hours of today, Vanessa Bryant took to her social media feeds to call out Meek Mill for his disrespectful Kobe Bryant lyrics he used in a snippet of an upcoming song he has with Lil Baby. There, the MMG rapper said “This b**ch I’m f**kin’ always tell me that she love me, but she ain’t ever showed me // Yeah, and if I ever lack, I’m goin’ out with my chopper, it be another Kobe.”

Vanessa explained in her Instagram stories how she isn’t familiar with Meek’s music and wondered if he was a Kobe fan. She also added that his lyrics lack respect and tact.

“Dear @meekmill, I find this line to be extremely insensitive and disrespectful. Period. I am not familiar with any of your music, but I believe you can do better than this. If you are a fan, fine, there’s a better way to show your admiration for my husband. This lacks respect and tact.”

Meek finally addressed this a few hours later as he explained that he privately apologized to Vanessa. He also added that he didn’t want to do this publicly so it won’t be seen as trying to create a viral moment.

“I apologized to her in private earlier today not to the public,” said Meek. “Nothing I say on my page directed to a internet viral moment or the family of a grieving woman! If you care about someone grieving change the subject!”
Meek also trended a few weekends ago after he and Tekashi 6ix9ine had a confrontation in a parking garage in Atlanta. This was outside of a local nightclub. The latest incident regarding the Kobe lyrics have definitely been drawing a lot of backlash though as social media believes he was way out of line.
