Since 2017, the Memphis hip hop scene has really exploded, into the mainstream. Not only did Yo Gotti and Young Dolph see their careers take off, many newcomers found success. Most signed with either of the two rappers.

Pooh Shiesty was a part of this wave of Memphis rappers, but he chose a different route. Instead of signing with a Memphis rapper, Pooh Shiesty signed with Gucci Mane. He definitely went to someone who knows how to pick stars.

Recently, Pooh Shiesty stopped by “The Breakfast Club,” sitting down with DJ Envy and Charlamagne Tha God, also talking to Angela Yee. During the interview, he discussed the decision to sign with Gucci Mane, along with his Shiesty Season project, his first ever. The conversation also saw him discuss the Southern energy.
