Last weekend, Bow Wow performed at Cle Houston, a popular nightclub in the city. Meek Mill appeared at this venue as well so it was expected to be a very packed club. Bow Wow did end up performing as everyone received backlash for attending due to COVID-19 concerns as many didn’t have masks on.

Bow Wow ended up explaining how he wore his mask when he got off stage and sanitized well. Yesterday, he expressed his frustration on Twitter for being blamed as he believed the city of Houston “hates his guts now.” Today, he explained the performance in his defense again.

“Here’s the TRUTH: My only statement. 1. It was not a bow wow concert. I simply did one verse to like you. And went back to my section and simply put my mask BACK on. 2. I did not i repeat did not GET PAID for anything. It was my boy’s 30th bday weekend and i came down off the love. 3. I apologize if i did anything wrong. I love the city of Houston. I consider it like a 2nd home. A place i go to on my free time. 4. Sorry to the mayor for any confusion. I understand the time we are living in so I apologize. My clip was the only clip to go viral and we know why. Anything with my name attached to it reads HEADLINES. That’s why they chose me. I understand this is what i signed up for. I can take all the heat and not sweat. Sorry for any confusion.”

Houston’s Mayor, Sylvester Turner, has since responded today as well. Things appear to be all good between the two now as Turner will go see Bow wow perform once COVID slows down.

“I appreciate @smoss and look forward to attending his concert myself in Houston when we get past this pandemic.” Bow Wow excitingly responded in a positive way and even said he’d give Turner front row seats to The Millennium Tour when it happens.

“Much love mayor! Once again I’m sorry if i caused any disruption. I didn’t mean to. All love! And i love the city of Houston with all my heart. I got your front row seats to the millennium tour when we hit Toyota center. God bless.”

As of now, Texas is wide open like most of the south as life is heading towards normalcy there. These concerts should continue but definitely enforce mask rules.
