Last month, iconic actor, Tommy “Tiny” Lister, suddenly passed away at the age of 62 at his California home. As of now, his cause of death is still unknown but it is said that he had COVID-19 symptoms in the days leading up to his passing. Lister was told by his manager Cindy Cowan, to CNN that he began feeling sick a week before and also had trouble breathing. That led to Lister canceling his appearances at a movie set and a TV festival.

Lister is known most in his acting career for his roles as Debo in ‘Friday‘ and ‘Friday After Next.’ In these films, he was feuding with Ice Cube as Cube played the role of Craig. In Friday, Craig knocked Debo out in a fight and in Friday After Next, Debo was trying to seek revenge after escaping from prison.

Lister loved this role so much that he actually legally changed his middle name to Debo before he passed away, according to his death certificate obtained by TMZ. His original middle name was Duane. Cowan told TMZ that this was done six months before his death. The reasoning was because that’s how many of his fans knew him as. Lister also reportedly wanted to take a COVID-19 vaccine so he could shoot movies again in 2021. He reportedly had COVID four months before his death.
