This week, J. Cole fans faced disappointment as his highly-anticipated ‘The Fall Off‘ album was rumored to be released on December 9. This was after Apple Music’s Zane Lowe hinted at a major artist coming through with a huge release that night at midnight. Many speculated that it would be Cole due to his previous album releases on December 9 such as ‘2014 Forest Hills Drive‘ in 2014 and ‘4 Your Eyez Only‘ in 2016.

The only thing Cole released on that day was the video for his “Fire Squad” video from 2014. Cole has some very good news coming his way now though as fans wait on the album. According to Chart Data, his “Middle Child” single from last year has been certified 6x platinum by the RIAA in the US. This is after selling 6 million units.

Middle Child originally appeared on J. Cole and Dreamville’s ‘Revenge Of The Dreamers III‘ album in the summer of 2019. This project debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart and is also platinum. As far as Middle child itself, it peaked at No. 4 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
