The BET Hip-Hop Awards are currently underway and the first award was just handed out. This was for Lyricist Of The Year and this was a very stacked category. The nominees were J.Cole, Drake, Megan Thee Stallion, Big Sean, DaBaby, and Rapsody.

Rapsody took this award home and this should be no surprise. Her lyricism is one of the most powerful flows in hip-hop and it was on full display on her third studio album, ‘Eve,’ This project peaked at Np. 76 on the Billboard 200 chart and contained appearances from heavy-hitters such as J.Cole, Queen Latifah, D’Angelo, and more.

Earlier this month, Rapsody released another very deep record in “Pray Momma Don’t Cry.” Fans now await what’s next from one of the game’s best lyricists over the past decade.
