In his NBA Finals career, LeBron James has taken two sweeps, his debut in 2007, and in 2018. Both of those sweeps came during his stints with the Cleveland Cavaliers. His time with the Heat and Lakers saw LeBron’s teams be more dominant, favored in most Finals.

The LBJ-era Miami Heat’s best chance to sweep was the 2012 Finals, against the Oklahoma City Thunder. Eventually, they won in five games, which saw four straight wins. This year, LeBron’s Lakers were expected to sweep the Miami Heat, led by Jimmy Butler.

LeBron James, and the Los Angeles Lakers, have a series on their hands, courtesy of Jimmy Butler’s play powering the Heat to a solid win. In the post-game conference, LeBron was asked about Jimmy. He had nothing but kind words to say about Butler, calling him one of the best competitors in the game, phenomenal, and that when he’s retired, he’ll miss competing against players like him.
