Naomi Osaka has been killing it at the US Open this week as she just won the championship vs Victoria Azarenka. This also became her third career major. Her boyfriend, rapper, Cordae, was also in the stands in NYC supporting her as she dominated again in the final.
Cordae was seen wearing a “Defund The Police” shirt as well as he has been very active in speaking out against racism and police brutality. He also protested in Louisville this summer in support of Breonna Taylor as he was arrested along with Trae Tha Truth and Porsha Williams. At the US Open, Osaka has also been wearing masks with names of Black police brutality victims on them.
During the tournament, Osaka also received videos of the family members of Trayvon Martin and Ahmaud Arbery thanking her for using her platform. She has definitely done a great job of doing so and Cordae has well in using his massive platform. Check out his reaction after Osaka won the US Open along with a closer look at his Defund The Police shirt below.
