Anyone who is sticking by R. Kelly’s side has been going down this week. Three associates were arrested for attempting to intimidate or pay off victims in his current legal cases. Kelly’s former manager, Donnell Russell, was one of them. Russell was “using the mail, the internet and cellular telephones to attempt to cause emotional distress to another individual.” A Facebook page was created titled “Surviving Lies” which countered against the victims’ claims of what Kelly did to them as well.

Things are getting worse for Russell as he has now been charged with conspiracy and threatening physical harm by interstate communication, according to the Associated Press. This is related to a December 2018 incident where a gun threat occurred during the screening of ‘Suriving R. Kelly.’ The event took place at NeueHouse Madison Square in Manhattan.

15 minutes into the screening of the documentary, two threatening calls were received. One caller claimed that someone was armed with a firearm inside the venue.

“Each and every day, we do everything in our power to make sure victims of sexual abuse have the opportunity to be heard, and will continue to do so regardless of those who allegedly use violence as a means to stop them,” said William F. Sweeney Jr., head of New York’s FBI office.

Kelly has been incarcerated since last summer. He’s facing sexual assault and racketeering charges in Illinois, New York, and Minnesota.
