The 2020 MTV VMAs go down on August 30 at 8pm ET as performances will be held in different boroughs in New York City and at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn with “limited or no audience.” The official nominations were revealed tonight ahead of the ceremony next month.
Artist of the Year nominees include DaBaby, Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga, Megan Thee Stallion, Post Malone, and The Weeknd. Three rappers are included in the Song of the Year category as well as the nominees feature Billie Eilish for “everything i wanted,” Doja Cat for “Say So,” Lady Gaga with Ariana Grande for “Rain On Me,” Megan Thee Stallion’s “Savage,” Post Malone’s “Circles,” and Roddy Ricch’s “The Box.”
In Best “Hip-Hop,” the nominees are DaBaby’s “BOP,” Eminem ft. Juice WRLD’s “Godzilla,” Future feat. Drake’s “Life Is Good,” Megan Thee Stallion’s “Savage,” Roddy Ricch’s “The Box,” and Travis Scott’s “HIGHEST IN THE ROOM.” The “Best R&B” category is competitive as well as they feature Alicia Key’s “Underdog,” Chloe x Halle’s “Do It,” H.E.R. feat. YG’s “Slide,” Khalid feat. Summer Walker’s “Eleven,” Lizzo’s “Cuz I Luv You,” and The Weeknd’s “Blinding Lights.”
