Kanye West Not Officially on Illinois Presidential Ballot Yet as The Validity of the Signatures Acquired on His Petition Are Being Evaluated; Originally Paid $30,000 To Get The Amount of Signatures Needed

Kanye West continues to remain hopeful in his run for president despite it actually mathematically being over after he missed deadlines in many states to get on their ballots. One of the most recent attempts was to get on his home state of Illinois’. On Tuesday, it appeared that he got on the ballot after being able to get 2,500 signatures needed at the minimum after he paid $30,000 for people to get the signatures door to door but things have now reached a huge roadblock.

According to TMZ, there have been three objections filed by the Illinois Board of Elections. They will now evaluate the validity of the signatures signed on the petition he was required to fill out to get on the ballot. A “special meeting” will also be held to determine if West’s name appears on the ballots.

The signatures are allowed to be reviewed due to possible instances of duplicate or counterfeit names. One objector was Sean Tenner, as he reviewed almost 3,200 signatures that West received and concluded that less than 1,000 were valid. He firmly believes the rest aren’t valid, either. Tenner added that he wanted to review the signatures as he was heated after West’s comment at his South Carolina presidential rally where he said that Harriet Tubman didn’t free slaves and actually got them to work for other white people.

This special meeting is set for next week as an officer will review evidence to decide if West will appear on Illinois’ ballots. At this point, he needs to drop this presidential bid. He also has no business running as people need to focus on getting Donald Trump out and not elect celebrities as president again.
