Wild ‘n Out‘ host, Nick Cannon, continues to make headlines for himself and now, it gets worse. He has now been fired after anti-Semitic comments made on his ‘Cannon’s Class’ show that was filmed back in 2019 on YouTube, per Forbes. On this episode, he brought on Richard “Professor Griff” Griffin. Cannon soon dived into Jewish conspiracy theories. Coincidentally, Griffin was kicked out of Public Enemy in 1989 due to anti-Semitic comments as well.

Griffin said that Semitic language “have absolutely nothing to do with any white people.” Cannon added that “the Semitic people are black people.” They then alluded to how Jewish people use of accusations of anti-Semitism to disempower Black people. They also agreed that the word Semitic should be reclaimed by Black people.

“It’s never hate speech, you can’t be anti-Semitic when we are the Semitic people,” Cannon said. When we are the same people who they want to be. That’s our birthright. We are the true Hebrews.”

ViacomCBS has since released a statement condemning Cannon’s comments.

“We have spoken with Nick Cannon about an episode of his podcast ‘Cannon’s Class’ on YouTube, which promoted hateful speech and spread anti-Semitic conspiracy theories. While we support ongoing education and dialogue in the fight against bigotry, we are deeply troubled that Nick has failed to acknowledge or apologize for perpetuating anti-Semitism, and we are terminating our relationship with him.”

Cannon addressed this on Twitter on Monday by saying “Anyone who knows me knows that I have no hate in my heart nor malice intentions. I do not condone hate speech nor the spread of hateful rhetoric.” The announcement comes in the midst of Cannon giving back to the community today in Harlem, NY at Harlem Serves Up. He has also been bashed for saying that white people are “closer to animals” and are the “true savages.” This will also now mark the end of Wild ‘n Out.’

This also comes after Philadelphia Eagles Wide Receiver, DeSean Jackson, made anti-Semitic comments last week on his Instagram page using a fake Hitler quote. He has since met with a 94-year-old Holocaust survivor and will be going to Auschwitz in Germany with him.
