July 7th,2020 has officially been declared Blackout Day for Black America as many join together to make a statement by refraining from contributing to the economy and not making any purchases at all. Well if any purchases are made on tomorrow they are to be directed to a black-owned business. Some have even gone as far as saying they will not engage on social media for the full day. A post has been shared several times that states:

“BLACKOUT DAY JULY 7th, 2020. This is a call to action!! We need one day of solidarity in America when not one black perosn in America spends a dollar. This includes Africans, Native Americans, Asian-Americans, Hispanics… ALL people of color. Together we have 3.9 trillion dollars in economic spending power. That’s $10,684,931,506.80 it’s going to cost per day next time a person of color gets shot!!! We will call it #BLACKOUTDAY2020 July 7th, 2020..”

A very bold and powerful challenge indeed, but do you think that everyone will get in formation?
