On Thursday, Meek Mill continued to troll DJ Akademiks on Twitter after finding out that he was banned from Twitch and suspended from Complex. This comes after calling John Legend’s wife, Chrissy Teigen, a b*tch. Akademiks has also been involved in a beef with Freddie Gibbs.
Meek may be dealing with some legal issues now though as he is being accused of stealing lyrics that he used on his “Cold Hearted II” and “100 Summers” songs that he used in 2018. These two songs appeared on his fourth studio album, ‘Championships,’ which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart and has since gone platinum.
According to Bossip, Dream Rich Entertainment, which is based in Meek’s hometown of Philadelphia, is filing this lawsuit. Meek’s label, Dream Chasers, and Atlantic Records, are also being accused of civil conspiracy to commit copyright infringement. Dream Rich says one of their songwriters wrote the original lyrics to these songs. They also added that Meek is using these lyrics as his own without giving due credit to this songwriter.
Meek also reportedly had this songwriter’s files so it was easy to use these lyrics. In the end, Dream Rich is looking for over $300,000 in damages. Be on the lookout to see if Meek addresses this lawsuit on Twitter. Stream 100 Summers and Cold Hearted II via YouTube below.
