Megan Thee Stallion has arguably been the hottest female rapper over the past year. It all started in early 2019 when her 2018 “Big Ole Freak” single took off. That initially appeared on her ‘Tina Snow‘ mixtape in the summer of 2018. In May of 2019, she released her ‘Fever‘ EP which contained even more hits with “Realer” and “Cash S*it” feat. DaBaby. She concluded that summer with her smash hit single, “Hot Girl Summer” feat. Nicki Minaj and Ty Dolla $ign.
In 2020, Megan’s momentum is also strong as she released her “B.I.T.C.H.” single in January which samples 2Pac’s 1996 “Ratha Be Ya N*gga” record.” In March, she released her ‘Suga‘ EP which contained her latest hit single, ‘Savage.’ That ended up getting a remix with fellow Houston star, Beyoncé. This weekend, Megan also released her “Girls In The Hood” single which samples Eazy-E’s legendary “Boyz-n-The-Hood.”
The virtual 2020 BET Awards are ongoing at the moment and Megan just took home the award for Best Female Hip Hop Artist. She beat out Cardi B, Doja Cat, Lizzo, Nicki Minaj, and Saweetie. Lizzo had an epic 2020 as she is starting to become a worldwide star so this was a very impressive win on Megan’s part. Fans are now awaiting her debut studio album.
