The Weeknd’s Fourth Studio Album, ‘After Hours,’ Goes 4x Platinum

By Yuriy Andriyashchuk Staff Writer

The Weeknd has had another epic year for himself as he released his fourth studio album, ‘After Hours,’ in March. It was led by the hit singles “Blinding Lights” and “Heartless.” Both of these records have since been certified platinum by the RIAA as Blinding Lights became the No. 1 song in the country. After Hours also debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart following its release.

After Hours continues to become arguably the best project of 2020 as it has now been certified 4x platinum, according to Chart Data. This is after it reached the 4 million units mark. As of now, the album stands at No. 11 on the Billboard 200.

The Weeknd was also supposed to start his ‘After Hours Tour’ this summer but of course, it had to be postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic. He already announced that the tour will return in the summer of 2021 though. Tickets purchased for this this summer will be honored in those specific cities next summer.
