We have all been been waiting for the past nine days for all four officers to be charged in George Floyd’s murder in Minneapolis last week. All have been fired as Derek Chauvin was the first to be hit with third-degree murder and second-degree manslaughter charges. He is currently in a maximum security prison.

News has now just broke that all four of the officers will face charges, according to Democratic Minnesota Senator, Amy Klobucha.

“Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison is increasing charges against Derek Chauvin to 2nd degree in George Floyd’s murder and also charging other 3 officers. This is another important step for justice,” said Klobucha on Twitter.

Benjamin Crump, who represents the Floyd family, spoke earlier today at the site that he was murdered. He called for charges for all of the officers involved and now, there is huge progress.

“We are demanding justice. We expect all of the police officers to be arrested before we have the memorial here in Minneapolis, Minnesota, tomorrow,” Crump said alongside Floyd family members. “Because we cannot have two justice systems in America, one for black America and one for white America. We must have equal justice for the United States of America.”

Chauvin now faces 40 years in prison and the remaining three officers are being hit with felonies which are aiding and abetting second-degree murder and aiding and abetting 2nd-degree manslaughter. They carry 40-year sentences as well. The other officers’ names are Tou Thao, Alexander Kueng, and Thomas Lane. Their bonds are each set at $1 million,

These are all amazing news but we need all of these officers prosecuted to the fullest extend of the law. Minnesota Governor, Tim Walz, also announced that the state’s Department of Human Rights is filing a civil rights charge against the Minneapolis PD to see if they have participated in systematic discriminatory practices over the past decade.
