Earlier this week, Timbaland and Swizz Beatz were discussing getting 112 and Jagged Edge together for an epic R&B ‘Verzuz‘ battle on Instagram Live. Swizz was telling Timbaland that the people want that and now, it’s officially going down.
112 vs Jagged Edge will take place on May 25 at 8pm ET. Verzuz confirmed this matchup on their social media handles. These two R&B groups are two of the greatest ever in their genre as they were dominant in the 90s and 2000s.
112 signed to Diddy’s Bad Boy Records and are known for hits such as “Peaches & Cream,” “Only You,” and “Anywhere.” They also have three platinum albums and one gold out of sixth studio albums. Jagged Edge signed to Jermaine Dupri’s So So Def Recordings label and created hits such as “Let’s Get Married” and “Where The Party At.” Edge had 10 albums in total as they created two platinum and two gold albums. Among the most memorable Verzuz matchups over the past month have been Lil Jon vs T-Pain, Ludacris vs Nelly, and Teddy Riley vs Babyface. 112 vs Jagged Edge should be in that conversation come Monday night as well.
