Yesterday brought a lot of anticipation regarding Tekashi 6ix9ine as it was going to be the first time that he went on Instagram Live since he got taken into custody on racketeering charges in November of 2018. He discussed why he snitched on the Nine Trey Bloods in September. This was after they robbed and kidnapped him in his hometown of Brooklyn in the summer of 2019. Prior to this incident, he was being investigated for murder conspiracy and weapons charges involving them. This IG Live session broke a record at 1.5 views as he went on to reach 2 million.

6ix9ine went on to get a two-year sentence in December but ended up getting credit for time served. Last month, he was released from prison due to coronavirus concerns. He will serve the last four months of his sentence on house arrest.

At the same time that 6ix9ine went on IG Live, he also put out his new single, “GOOBA,” along with the music video for it. The video is doing huge numbers as it’s reached over 37 million views and is the number one trending video on YouTube, according to Chart Data.

People shouldn’t be shrouded at 6ix9ine being bigger as an artist than he was before he was locked  up. 6ix9ine snitching on Nine Trey was the best move for his career. He even got a $10 million record deal from 10k Projects in October.
