Summer Walker emerged as an R&B star at the end of 2018 with the release of her breakout single “Girls Need Love.” In January of 2019, she released the highly anticipated remix for this single featuring Drake. This went on to appear on her debut studio album, ‘Over It,’ in the fall.

Over It featured other hit singles such as “Come Thru” feat. Usher, “Playing Games” feat. Bryson Tiller, “Stretch You Out” feat. A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie. This project continues to be one of the best in R&B as according to Chart Data, it has officially gone platinum. This is after 1 million units were sold.

At the end of 2019, Walker concluded her “First And Last Tour” and it was met with some controversy as many shows had to be canceled. This was due to Walker expressing her battles with social anxiety. Nonetheless, her shows were sold out and it ended with a bang in her hometown of Atlanta in December. Hopefully, we’re able to get her sophomore album sometime in 2020. Walker has also recently building more momentum for herself with features as last week, she appeared on Trey Songz’s “Back Home” single and Khalid’s “Eleven” single.
