Over the course of the past five years, fans have fallen for “Empire,” mainly because of Cookie (Taraji P. Henson). Though the show began with Lucious (Terrence Howard) as the focal point, Cookie’s popularity was hard to deny. Always a lead, Cookie became the show.

The past three seasons have dived into Cookie’s childhood, and into her own life and career. However, in spite of all of this, she is always drawn to Lucious and their Empire. Tonight showed this, in the most dramatic way, as Cookie launches her next phase.

Cookie embraced Loretha, her given name, and she came ready to fight for Empire. Getting Giselle (Nicole Ari Parker) out of the way, Cookie shut her down in the conference. Her “No, you listen, Linda!” line, was one of her final clap backs, but one that Twitter was here for, as they will miss “Empire.”
