Ebony Magazine website is unavailable, leading some to believe the iconic publication has ended, seeing how they stopped doing print editions, long ago

This is very troubling news, as Ebony is the godfather of all urban media. Long before there was access to the world of black culture, it was John Johnson pushing through. He created Ebony to give a glimpse into this world and his vision lives on.

Johnson Publishing Company, in Chicago, changed the world, as the company also birthed JET magazine. These publications built a dedicated subscriber base, which lived on after Johnson’s death. But, the digital revolution ended up taking out both print magazines.

By 2008, both Ebony and JET had websites, initially beginning with their ebonyjet.com website. However, JET suspended operations, making way for ebony.com. But, a look at the website, today, shows that it is not properly loading, meaning the effective end of the company, if the site is officially over.
