Wednesday marks two weeks since rising Brooklyn rapper Pop Smoke was shot and killed in Hollywood Hills, CA. A motive is still unknown as police believe he was intentionally targeted in this home invasion.

According to the death certificate obtained by TMZ, Smoke’s body was recently flown back to his hometown of Brooklyn. The final burial will also take place later this week. After the shooting took place, doctors tried to save Smoke by opening his chest to treat the gunshot wounds but it wasn’t enough. The shooting occurred around 4:30am and he passed away at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center at 5:12am.

Smoke was shot multiple times as four men reportedly broke into the home. His family has since released a statement thanking fans for the support and to be careful of inaccurate reports regarding the murder. They have claimed that no official details regarding the murder have been released. Police have also reached a roadblock in the investigation due to potential witnesses refusing to speak and others changing their stories.

50 Cent has also come out saying that he will executive produce and finish the rest of Smoke’s upcoming album. Last month, Smoke released his ‘Meet The Woo 2’ project which featured hits such as “Christopher Walking” and the “Dior” remix with Gunna.
