Cardi B has been one of the biggest artists in the world since 2017 and at the same time, is no stranger to controversy. According to TMZ, a female security guard named Emani Ellis Beverly Hills is suing Cardi for assault, battery and infliction of emotional distress.
The lawsuit is in regards to an incident that took place outside of a doctor’s office in a medical building in Beverly Hills back in February of 2018. Cardi allegedly assaulted, struck and spat on Ellis on her head along with hurling profanities and racial slurs at her as Ellis is a black woman. This is all after Ellis supposedly tried to take photos and record a video of Cardi.
Cardi didn’t want to be recorded at all and that’s when the assault and verbal abuse occurred. According to witnesses, Ellis was angry as well and an argument ensued. They also shut down the claims that things got violent and Ellis wasn’t called any sort of slurs.
At the time, Cardi was about four months pregnant with her and Offset’s daughter, Kulture. The public had not known about the pregnancy yet. Cardi has since responded by saying the doctor’s office acknowledged that this altercation didn’t happen, Ellis didn’t actually press charges, and she wouldn’t put her hands on someone twice her size by herself while experiencing pregnancy pains.
