It looks like the apple doesn’t fall too far from the rock bottom tree. Dewayne “The Rock” Johnson had a proud dad moment when he announced that his oldest daughter, Simone Johnson, would be following in the family tradition of becoming a WWE wrestler.
The WWE Network announced Monday that the 18-year-old has signed her contract and has begun training to at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida.
“To the little girl who fell in love with wrestling & said ‘this will be my life one day’, this is for you. I’m humbled, grateful & ready to work. Let’s do this.”
Simone is aspiring to follow in the footsteps of her dad, grandfather and great-grandfather to become the first ever 4th generation WWE superstar. Her father, The Rock, was the first ever 3rd generation WWE athlete.
She seems to be making a great first impression with her trainers at camp.
“Simone is a wonderful girl,” WWE Assistant Head Coach Sara Amato said in a statement. “She’s like a sponge, it’s pretty amazing. She knows what it takes to succeed and all the hard work and sacrifice that goes into it. I wouldn’t have expected anything less.”
