Oprah Says Gayle King is Receiving Death Threats After Mentioning Kobe Bryant’s 2003 Sexual Assault Case in Lisa Leslie Interview and Asking if it Complicates His Legacy; CBS Regrets The Clip Airing [VIDEOS]

A few days ago, CBS’ Gayle King received plenty of backlash on social media after her interview with WNBA legend, Lisa Leslie aired. King asked if Kobe Bryant being accused of sexual assault by a 19-year-old hotel employee in Colorado back in 2003 complicates his legacy.

Leslie handled the situation well as she said it shouldn’t complicate his legacy as she defended Bryant in that he always treated well. Bryant ended up not being charged as the young lady didn’t want to testify.

The response on social media has now gotten so bad to the point that she’s supposedly receiving death threats, according to Oprah. TMZ added that CBS staffers believe that that particular clip should’ve never been aired. They also believed they failed King by letting that be aired. One particular staffer put out the clip but hasn’t been let go by CBS but feels bad about the situation.

It was insensitive by King to mention this case for sure. She should not be receiving death threats though. Oprah is also receiving criticism herself for bashing black men like Michael Jackson and Russell Simmons but not convicted white rapists like Harvey Weinstein. Check out the clip of the interview with Leslie along with Oprah addressing King below.
