Memphis rappers, Young Dolph and Yo Gotti, have been beefing for over five years now and it’s always supposedly been because Dolph didn’t wanna sign to Gotti’s CMG label so he could stay independent as he still is now. Things reached a crazy point in the spring of 2017 when Dolph’s bulletproof Mercedes-Benz SUV was shot 100 times in Charlotte, NC. Dolph was never injured and went on to make a “100 Shots” diss record.
Prior to the shooting, Dolph released his “Play With Yo B*tch” diss track aimed at Gotti as well. This is what likely caused the shooting in Charlotte. CMG artist Blac Youngsta turned himself in for his alleged involvement but ended up being released.
Dolph is now apparently continuing to keep his beef with Gotti alive in a now-deleted Instagram post where he celebrated Play With Yo B*tch becoming certified gold. The Paper Route Empire boss said “Have you ever smashed a f*ck n*gga’s b*tch then got paid for it? Another gold plaque stupid ass lil boy. INDEPENDENTLY THO.”
It seems like this beef will never get squashed. A Dolph and Gotti collaboration would be hot and a big win for Memphis overall. Check out Dolph’s IG post below.
