Gayle King is accused of trying to suck Lisa Leslie into shady questions about Kobe Bryant and his past rape/sex offender allegations and Twitter drags both her and Oprah, accusing them of being the biggest threat to black men, for asking her about Kobe’s past

It’s no secret that the hip hop community has a love/hate relationship with Oprah Winfrey. Due to her close association, Gayle King also receives a healthy portion of this backlash. Last year, King came under fire for her R. Kelly interview.

The difference, though, is that Oprah owns her outlets, whereas Gayle is simply a correspondent. However, fans do realize that she is in charge of the questions she asks. This morning, Gayle King sat down with Lisa Leslie, speaking on Kobe Bryant.

Gayle King, despite Kobe Bryant having passed away a little over a week ago, as a respected father and husband, asked Lisa Leslie about his prior rape allegations. Lisa Leslie and Kobe Bryant share a deep history, both arriving in LA, during the same year, and becoming huge NBA and WNBA stars, respectively. King’s choice to ignore that, and go into Kobe’s drama, got her dragged by Twitter, but fans thanked Lisa Leslie for not taking the bait.
