It’s been five days since the tragic loss of Kobe Bryant, his daughter Gianna, and seven others in a helicopter crash in Calabasas, CA. The group were traveling to Mamba Academy. Gianna was set to play in a basketball game that Kobe was going to coach.
Tonight is the first game since Kobe’s death for his former team, the Los Angeles Lakers. They will take on the Portland Trail Blazers. Tuesday’s game vs the Clippers was postponed due to both franchises needing time to mourn. Ahead of tonight’s game, Brandy posted a tribute on Instagram to the Bryant family and the victims.
Brandy said that she’ll never understand this tragedy as she offered condolences to Kobe’s wife, Vanessa, and all families that are suffering from this. Many remember Brandy going to prom with Kobe in 1996 at his Lower Merion High School in Pennsylvania. He also guest-starred with her on the popular sitcom, “Moesha.” They dated briefly before Kobe got with his future wife, Vanessa.
