Lizzo took home three awards at the GRAMMYs last night in Los Angeles. She shouted out Kobe Bryant prior to performing and her wins were well deserved as she had an epic 2019. Her third studio album, “Cuz I Luv You,” became her most successful project to date as it peaked at No. 4 on the Billboard 200 and had plenty of hits. Among them were the 2017 single “Truth Hurts” along with “Juice” and “Jerome.” Her 2016 single “Good As Hell” is also blowing up as she is the epitome of “greatness takes time.”

Lizzo continues to become an international superstar and one piece of criticism that she’s sadly receiving is that she supposedly makes music for white people. She spoke on this in a new interview with Rolling Stone. She shut this ignorant mindset down as she said she makes feel-good music.

“I’m making music that hopefully makes other people feel good and helps me discover self-love,” said Lizzo. “That message I want to go directly to black women, big black women, and black trans women.”

The Minnesota artist added that she knows White people go to her shows and won’t turn them down. She also explained how as a black woman, she makes music for people in general and it’s all from an experience that is from a black woman. She’s speaking all facts. Lizzo makes good music period that’s fun to listen to. She deserves all the success she’s had to this day as well.
