The GRAMMYs are taking place in Los Angeles tonight at the STAPLES Center and some of the early award-winners are already being announced. One of them is for ‘Best Rap Performance.’

Nipsey Hussle has just won this GRAMMY for his 2019 single, “Racks In The Middle,” as it is also his first one won in his career. Fellow LA rapper, Roddy Ricch, was featured on this record as it went on to become one of the top songs of 2019. Among the other nominees were J. Cole with “Middle Child,'” “Suge” by DaBaby, “Down Bad” by Dreamville feat. J.I.D, Bas, J. Cole, EARTHGANG & Young Nudy, and “Clout” by Offset feat. Cardi B. Racks In The Middle was also sadly Nipsey’s last single while alive.

Nipsey will also be receiving a GRAMMY tribute tonight by YG, Nipsey Hussle, John Legend, DJ Khaled, and Kirk Franklin. Prior to Racks In The Middle’s win tonight, Nipsey was GRAMMY-nominated in 2019 for his debut studio album, “Victory Lap.” It was up for “Best Rap Album.” It lost to Cardi B’s “Invasion of Privacy” album but is still regarded as a very solid debut album.
