When Brandon Ingram got shipped away to the New Orlean Pelicans in the trade that brought Anthony Davis to the Lakers, many unfortunately wrote him off. Given the string of young players drafted by the Lakers seemingly being lost abject obscurity after being traded away, it was nearly expected that we wouldn’t be hearing much about Ingram. coming out of college, Ingram was an exciting pick up for the Lakers. He was long and could stretch the floor. However, for one reason of another, the Lakers couldn’t figure out what to do with him. Add in his frequent injuries and inconsistencies, he became another wasted Laker lottery pick with untapped potential.
Fast forward to this season and you will see Ingram painting a whole different narrative for himself. It appears that Brandon is thriving in New Orleans. They allowing him to flourish as scoring and stretch player. It’s definitely evident after his historic performance against the Utah Jazz. Ingram was the man, scoring a career high 49 points, along with 8 rebounds and 6 assists. He capped off the incredible night with a winning shot seconds left in the fourth.
