NFL star free agent Antonio Brown and internet star Logan Paul have had a very unusual Twitter beef as they’ve been discussing a boxing match for a few weeks now. Negotiations continue to get serious now and the fight could happen this spring.
According to TMZ Sports, Brown vs Paul is aiming for an April fight date as it’s being negotiated with the DAZN streaming app and Matchroom Boxing. Brown has since hired former Olympian, Eromosele Albert, as his trainer to help assist him for the matchup against Paul, according to BoxingScene.com. Albert emphasized that Brown is serious about making this fight a reality.
“We’re starting a training camp now. He’s a natural. He’s an athlete. It’s not a big transition. He’s going to catch-up really quick. He needs a lot of work to get done, to correct all of his mistakes. We have three months to get ready for the fight. That’s enough time. He’s in shape already. We just have to work on his technique, head movement and defense — and that should be it for him to be ready.”
Paul fought against YouTuber and rapper, KSI, in a boxing match at the STAPLES Center in Los Angeles in November of 2019 as he fell in a split decision. His 2018 fight against KSI resulted in a draw.
Brown has since been trying to evict his baby mama from his Miami home and his agent, Drew Rosenhaus, isn’t representing him anymore unless he’s counseled. His actions on social media have been crazy at times since getting parting away from the Raiders and Patriots last fall but time will tell if he will actively return to an NFL team. Brown is still being investigated by the league for sexual assault/misconduct. In the meantime, he’s trying to make the Paul fight happen and released his debut hip-hop single, “Whole Lotta Money.”
