NBA fans left in shock after seeing back-up Ish Smith cook the Celtics; Fans chant MVP after scoring 27 points; Twitter drags Celtics for losing to Wizards without Bradley Beal #WizCeltics

By Prince Hakeem

If you don’t know who Ish Smith is, don’t feel bad. In his nearly 10 year career as an NBA player, he’s never been a household name. Having played for 10 different teams in 7 years, Smith is the quintessential journeyman. He’s always been solid, but mainly known as a back-up throughout his career. In a league where point guards are pretty much the new shooting guards, Smith is a throwback to the point guards of old where facilitating and assists is the skill trade.

Coming out of Wake Forest, Smith was Second-Team All-ACC when he went undrafted in the 2010 Draft. Over the past 9 to 10 years, he’s played for the Rockets, Orlando Magic, Thunder, and more. His most recent team is  the Washington Wizards. With Bradley Beal out due to injury, Smith has been starting in his absence. If there was ever a time to make a name for yourself, Ish Smith definitely took this as an opportunity to do so

After coming off of a career high 32 points against the Denver Nuggets last night, Smith had a great performance against the Celtics. He cooked them for 27 points. Fans in Washington were even giving the ‘MVP chant’ treatment by the end of the night.
