Cardi B’s ‘Invasion of Privacy’ Album Ties Lauryn Hill’s ‘The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill’ as Longest-Charting Debut Album By Female Rapper in Billboard 200 History at 91 Weeks

Just before 2020 arrived, Cardi B continued to win big with her debut album, ‘Invasion of Privacy,’ which was released in the spring of 2018. The latest accomplishment was that it is now the most streamed female rap album in Spotify’s history. Now, Cardi is in the same conversation as one of the best female artists of all-time, Lauryn Hill.

According to Chart Data, Invasion of Privacy now ties Hill’s debut album The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill as the longest- charting debut album by a female rapper in Billboard 200’s history. This project was released back in 1998 and featured the hit singles ‘Doo Wop,’ ‘Ex-Factor,’ and ‘Everything is Everything.’ Cardi had plenty of hits on Invasion of Privacy as well such as ‘Bodak Yellow,’ ‘I Like It‘ feat. J Balvin and Bad Bunny, and ‘Ring‘ feat. Kehlani. Both Cardi and Hill reached 91 weeks with their respective albums. Hill has since released her first single in five years with ‘Guarding The Gates‘ which appeared on the ‘Queen and Slim‘ movie soundtrack and is on tour as well.

Cardi fans have since been waiting on her sophomore album to be released and she provided an insight to the next single earlier today on Twitter. A fan asked to spill some tea about it and she put up an audio clip of the next for all but two seconds but the Wheezy “Wheezy Outta Here” producer tag could be heard. He is one of the hottest artists in the game so it only makes sense for the two to link up.

Congrats to Cardi on another big accomplishment for Invasion of Privacy. It has already gone 3x platinum and the next project should put up big numbers as well. She had a very successful 2019 with her ‘Please Me’ featuring Bruno Mars and ‘Press‘ singles and those have been building momentum for the new album.
