Since about his second year in the league, Eli Apple has become NFL fans’ favorite punching bag. Originally started as a result of his mom’s Lavar Ball-type contention with the New York sports media, Apple has become the meme- giving gift that just keeps giving. It appears that Apple is having some trouble covering Calvin Ridley in tonight’s game against the Atlanta Falcons. There have been three occasions this season alone that have involved Eli Apple trending for all the wrong reasons. It’s actually hilarious at this point So here go NFL fans taking tonight’s performance as an opportunity to further the tradition of scapegoating Eli Apple as the weak link.
